Progressive Insurance, the leading commercial auto insurer in the U.S., has announced a rebranding for its large fleet commercial line coverage. Formerly known as Protective Insurance, it will now be called Progressive Fleet & Specialty Programs (Progressive Fleet). This name change reflects the integration of businesses and highlights Progressive's expanded expertise in large fleet transportation and niche insurance programs for the transportation and delivery industries.
Karen Bailo, Progressive's Commercial Lines President, stated, "This announcement was part of our strategy when we first acquired Protective almost three years ago. Our vision has come to fruition with this announcement enabling us to promote our full suite of capabilities in the transportation market."
Before joining Progressive, Protective Insurance had a long-standing heritage of marketing and underwriting insurance, specifically for the transportation industry. Now, operating under the Progressive Fleet name, the company will continue to prioritize excellent customer service and provide clients with personal attention and quality coverage.
The rebranding aims to benefit both agents and customers by establishing a nationally recognized brand. Progressive Fleet will continue to be the leading solution for fleet trucking and workers' compensation insurance, backed by an A (Excellent) rating by A.M. Best.
With this name change, Progressive Insurance reinforces its commitment to offering comprehensive insurance options for personal and commercial vehicles. They provide coverage for autos, trucks, motorcycles, boats, recreational vehicles, and homes. As the second largest auto insurer in the country, Progressive is also a leading seller of commercial auto, motorcycle, and boat insurance, as well as one of the top 15 homeowners insurance carriers.
Progressive Insurance was founded in 1937 and has a long history of providing innovative shopping tools and services that save customers time and money. Their offerings include Name Your Price, Snapshot, and HomeQuote Explorer. The Common Shares of The Progressive Corporation, the holding company based in Mayfield Village, Ohio, are publicly traded on the NYSE under the symbol PGR.
