In the windows of fifteen participating businesses and organizations in downtown Huntington, there are story panels exploring different meanings of the word “community.”

Through a collaborative effort between the United Way of Huntington County, Downtown Business Association Heart of Huntington and the Huntington City-Township Public Library, funded by the Bowfin Solar Project, students from the fall 2022 digital illustration class at Huntington University (HU) illustrated the community-themed panels under the supervision of Professor Bryan Ballinger.

HU student artists include Joy Heisey, Rheanna Jones, Gannon Sheer, Rachel Scobey, Isabel Sitowski, Alyssa Smith, Madelyn Tielking and Carrie Runyan.

Maps will be available at each location. The walk is designed to be a self-led tour along Jefferson Street with some stops within a block along Washington and Franklin Streets.
