The City of Tucson is partnering with Pima County to provide an online marketing platform to help businesses attract customers and generate foot traffic to local brick-and-mortars stores.
Participating merchants can create offers for customers on the platform Hownd, which will automatically create and distribute promos based on their offers, according to Hownd's website. The city and the county are investing $50,000 in funds to cover transaction fees that Hownd would ordinarily charge participating merchants for their services, according to a press release from the city.
A substantial return on investment is expected on the fund from revenue generated for local businesses from the sale of vouchers, gift cards and coupons purchased through the MyHownd mobile app, email, social media, or a participating merchant’s website.
Businesses that are interested in signing up for the service can visit Hownd’s website to learn more.
The city’s and county’s sponsorship funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and will be available until the funds allocated for this program are exhausted.
