The Chandler Center for the Arts Gallery will highlight the works of regional and national artists at an upcoming exhibit featuring relief prints, monoprints and monotypes.
The exhibit, “Santo Press: The First Eight Years,” will feature artists who use the printmaking studio Santo Press of Scottsdale. The gallery is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon-5 p.m. Saturday, and the exhibit run from Oct. 13-Nov. 9.
Artwork ranges from modern and bold to subdued and nuanced and shows over 25 artists’ different styles.
“These prints are colorful, emotional, poignant and thought-provoking,” Peter Bugg, Chandler Center for the Arts Gallery visual arts coordinator, said in a press release. “I cannot wait for people to see this exhibition at the gallery. With such a variety of artists participating, I think visitors will have a new appreciation for the diverse applications and outcomes of printmaking.”
In addition, from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 2, the gallery will host a public reception with the artists at its location on North Arizona Avenue
Santo Press, founded by Master Printer Brent Bond in 2009, has fully restored a 1961 printing press and has released 196 editions by 32 artists.
