Daniel Cruz, executive director and founder of social media and public relations company Biltmore Media, will be a speaker at the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce's upcoming Business & Breakfast event, the chamber reported.

This year's Business & Breakfast will be from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Sept. 26 at Estrella Mountain Community College. Haymaker Restaurant Co. will serve as the breakfast sponsor. The event gathers professionals such as government officials and community leaders to provide valuable business information that can improve the Southwest Valley community.

Biltmore Media assists with the growth of businesses by developing their customer base via social media sites such as Facebook, Yelp and LinkedIn. At the event, Cruz will explain how to build a customer base, new ways of approaching point-of-sale marketing and various search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.

"Business owners might not be aware that Apple's iPhone indexes Yelp for all its local search result," Cruz said in a press release. "In other words, every time you ask Siri, Siri asks Yelp."

"Every business or organization needs to be aware of their online appearance, presence, and image," John Safin, president and CEO of the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, said in the release. "We're grateful to have Mr. Cruz share his expertise. His presentation will show everyone the best ways to use social media to their benefit to influence consumers and business decision makers."
