A financial industry association recently awarded the city of Maricopa a certificate for its outstanding financial reporting, according to a press release.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) conferred its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the city for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
The status is bestowed by a neutral panel of industry stakeholders in conjunction with GFOA and serves to honor transparency and disclosure in financial reporting and motivate readership.
“The Finance/Administrative Services Department is committed to ensuring the production of high quality financial information, providing support for City departments and management and monitoring the fiscal condition of the City of Maricopa,” the city of Maricopa said on its website.
