The city of Surprise is taking the role of a Heat Relief Network partner, alongside the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), to help residents keep cool during dangerous summer temperatures.
By working with MAG to map out different hydration stations throughout the city, Surprise aims to create a refuge from the heat from May through September, seeking to eliminate deaths caused by heat-related complications, according to a release.
Hydration stations can be found in a number of locations, including the Surprise Resource Center at 12425 W. Bell Road, Building A., Suite 124 and Surprise Fire-Medical Station No. 301, 16750 N. Village Drive East.
The Heat Relief Network is accepting donations of water bottles, sunglasses, sunscreen and hats at its locations.
