Arizona State University (ASU) Scottsdale Innovation Center has created a retro co-working space dubbed SkySong.

The space includes diner booths, vintage juke boxes, neon signs, a Bob’s Big Boy statue, Wi-Fi, high-definition projectors and a teleconferencing and display system.

Those behind the project are excited about it and the ability to connect with the local entrepreneurial community, Ji Mi Choi associate vice president for entrepreneurship and innovation at ASU, said.

“1951@SkySong is an extension of our efforts to bring together entrepreneurial individuals and organizations from ASU and the greater community to boost innovation and economic growth in the Valley,” Choi said in a press release.

SkySong has the capacity for up to 250 people who can work from spaces set up like diner booths, lounge spaces, individual work areas, collaboration areas, training areas or a conference room.

It was officially opened in October 2016 and tiered memberships are available.

SkySong is expected to raise over $32.17 billion over the next 30 years. The project was a partnership with University Realty LLC, city of Scottsdale, Holualoa Companies and Plaza Companies.

The space was intended for ASU students and faculty as well as alumni and other entrepreneurs in the community.
