The Arizona Corporation Commission recently tapped Tom Forese as its new chairman. Forese replaces former Chairman Doug Little.
A board member of the commission for the past two years, Forese said one of his priorities as chairman is accountability, and he plans to implement a code of ethics and a 10-year audit. He also said his will push the commission to look at new technologies to boost Arizona’s economy.
“We must balance utility regulation with the needs of the people, but also the needs of economic growth," Forese said. "Arizona is a state that is open for business. The policies and decisions we make can be critical to economic growth. Low energy rates for customers are essential for that kind of growth."
Forese has served as chairman of Arizona’s House Commerce Committee and been a member of the House Appropriations Committee. He recently facilitated a series of workshops on rooftop solar power and led an initiative for energy-efficiency programs in schools.
“I want to thank commissioner and former Chairman Little,” he said. “His dedication and passion have been widely recognized and his drive will be essential as we all continue to strive for excellence in our work."
