Hinrich Eylers, executive dean of the School of Advanced Studies at University of Phoenix, has been elected to the Jobs for Arizona’s Graduates (JAG) board of directors.
JAG, an affiliate of Jobs for America’s Graduates, provides high school students with leadership and job skills to help them find success after graduation.
“Dr. Eylers’ unwavering commitment to the students at University of Phoenix and in the Arizona community overall makes him an ideal board member,” Graciela Candia, JAG president, said. “His energy, expertise and experience will be a valuable asset to our organization and the students we serve.”
JAG has 25 programs in schools across Arizona and serves more than 1,200 students.
“Throughout its three decades of operation, JAG has helped thousands of young people stay focused on their education,” Eylers said. “Ensuring the success of those pursuing their educational goals is a worthwhile effort, and I look forward to working with Jobs for Arizona’s Graduates.”
University of Phoenix partners with JAG and invites a small group of students each year to participate in the University of Phoenix Leads Program in which university employees mentor the students.
Jobs for Arizona's Graduates aims to keep students in school, and to acquire the life and job skills that will help them after graduation. For more information, please visit www.jagaz.org.
