U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) recently congratulated Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) after the community human and economic development organization based in Phoenix was awarded an $800,000 grant to support job creation and economic development.
The grant was awarded by the Administration for Children and Families’ (ACF) Community Economic Development and will help CPLC provide assistance for local entrepreneurs with new and existing projects. The project aims to create 40 full-time employment opportunities, especially jobs that will benefit and can be offered to low-income Arizonans.
“At a time when working families are struggling to make ends meet, this project will allow CPLC to invest in and help grow local businesses that will create jobs for low-income Arizonans," Gallego said. “I want to congratulate CPLC on receiving this significant award, which will help the organization to continue its important economic and community development work in Arizona.”
Gallego had sent a letter to the ACF earlier this year supporting the CPLC grant application.
