Salt River Project will receive its 20th Tree Line USA designation on Tuesday in Phoenix.

Salt River Project will receive its 20th Tree Line USA designation during an Arizona Arbor Day celebration at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Arizona State Capitol Museum.

SRP won the award in recognition of its tree planting, pruning, and maintenance work for utility equipment in the Phoenix area.

"SRP has a longstanding tradition of meeting the five Tree Line USA requirements of quality tree care, annual worker training, a tree-based energy conservation program, an Arbor Day celebration and tree planting and public education," Deputy General Manager Michael Lowe said. "We continue to have active membership in the Arizona Community Tree Council, which has been involved with planting and caring for millions of trees in Arizona communities."

The award is handed out by the Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters. Arbor Day Foundation officials said SRP's work shows how tree stewards and utility companies can coexist.
