The City of Covington is set to begin its 2025-2026 Resurfacing Project next week, aiming to improve road conditions across various neighborhoods. This project will involve the pouring of nearly 60,000 square yards of new asphalt over 13 streets in ten neighborhoods, including Central Business District, Botany Hills, Monte Casino, Ritte’s East, Licking Riverside, Peaselburg, Eastside, Westside, Latonia Rosedale, and South Covington.
The streets scheduled for resurfacing are Madison Ave., Western Ave., Janes Ln., Joann Pl., Siffel Ct., Glenn Ave., Garrard St., Howell St., Wheeler St., Banklick St., 23rd St. West, 40th St., and Kidwell Ln.
Residents in these areas are advised to expect temporary parking restrictions during the paving process. Notifications have been sent by mail to those affected.
Contracts for this work were approved at the City Commission’s Legislative Meeting on July 15. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Resurfacing Project will be carried out by Riegler Blacktop for $290,638. Eaton Asphalt will handle the remaining Capital Resurfacing Project for $470,715.20.
