The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the opening of a Business Recovery Center in Kerr County, Texas. This initiative aims to assist small businesses, private nonprofit organizations, and residents affected by severe storms and flooding that began on July 2.

Starting Friday, July 11, SBA customer service representatives will be available at the Kerrville center to answer questions and help with disaster loan applications. The center is open for walk-ins, but appointments can also be scheduled at appointment.sba.gov.

The Business Recovery Center is located at The YES Center at First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville. Its operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“SBA’s Business Recovery Centers have consistently proven their value to business owners following a disaster,” said Chris Stallings, associate administrator of the Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience at the SBA. “Business owners can visit these centers to meet face‑to‑face with specialists who will guide them through the disaster loan application process and connect them with resources to support their recovery.”

Eligible businesses and nonprofits can apply for physical disaster loans up to $2 million for repairs or replacements of damaged assets. The Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program is also available for those experiencing financial losses due to the disasters.

Homeowners and renters may apply for loans up to $100,000 for personal property repair or replacement, while homeowners can borrow up to $500,000 for primary residence repairs.

Interest rates start as low as 4% for small businesses, 3.625% for nonprofits, and 2.813% for homeowners and renters with terms up to 30 years. Interest accrual and payments are deferred until one year after the first loan disbursement.

Applications can be submitted online at sba.gov/disaster or by calling SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955. Telecommunications relay services are available by dialing 7-1-1.

The deadline for submitting applications for physical property damage is September 4, 2025, while economic injury applications must be submitted by April 6, 2026.
