Papa John's International was founded in 1984 with a focus on high-quality ingredients for better pizzas. The company uses fresh dough made from six ingredients and tops its pizzas with mozzarella cheese and vine-ripened tomato sauce. It was also the first national pizza delivery chain to remove artificial flavors and synthetic colors from its menu.

The company is co-headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and Louisville, Kentucky. It ranks as the world's third-largest pizza delivery company with over 6,000 restaurants across approximately 50 countries and territories.
