United Way of Greater Cincinnati recently recognized businesses and organizations contributing to the community through its Workplaces That Care and Changemakers Awards. The awards celebrate those whose generosity and volunteerism help strengthen the community.

"Through Workplaces That Care and Changemakers Awards, we honor those whose generosity and volunteerism strengthen our community and create lasting change," stated Moira Weir, President & CEO of United Way of Greater Cincinnati.

The organization focuses on educational success, financial empowerment, and housing security. It collaborates with partners across a nine-county service area in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. These partnerships include individuals, businesses, and organizations that contribute through donations, volunteer hours, and advocacy efforts.

"We believe it’s important to recognize our partners for making a difference in our community," Weir added. The recognition took place at the United We Celebrate event on March 18.

The Workplaces That Care awards highlighted the Top 25 corporate campaigns with the highest total giving and Tremendous 25 with the highest per-capita giving. New businesses joining United Way's mission were also acknowledged.

Changemakers Awards honored five businesses promoting a culture of volunteerism by logging significant per-capita volunteer hours. Additionally, a grassroots nonprofit was recognized for innovative community support efforts.

"The collective impact of the honorees is helping build a future where everyone can thrive," Weir noted. The organization encourages others to join these efforts.
