The App Association has expressed its disappointment following the Senate's decision to remove an AI pause from a reconciliation bill. Morgan Reed, president of ACT | The App Association, stated, "We are disappointed by the Senate’s retreat from supporting small businesses and innovation in AI."

Reed highlighted that this decision is a setback for members of the association and other small tech companies at the forefront of AI solutions across various industries such as healthcare, agriculture, and supply chain management. He remarked, "No pause means asking small businesses to navigate a patchwork of state laws and conflicting or missing definitions of what governments mean when they use the term 'AI'."

Reed emphasized that this creates a challenging environment for progress. Despite this development, he assured that the association will continue advocating for policies that provide innovative companies with the clarity and confidence needed to invest and maintain U.S. leadership in AI.
