Amazon has expanded its mental health support for employees and their families worldwide. The company received the Platinum Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America for the third consecutive year in 2025. This recognition highlights Amazon's efforts to integrate mental health into the workplace, offering services like counseling access, digital tools, and community partnerships across more than 60 countries.

The award acknowledges Amazon's high scores in workplace culture and mental health benefits, with a total score of 96%, surpassing the national employer average. Dr. Chris DeCou, director of Amazon Health Benefits, said, "Receiving the Platinum Bell Seal from Mental Health America for the third year in a row reflects the intentional work we've done to embed mental health into the fabric of our culture."

Amazon offers various mental health resources through its Global Employee Assistance Program (EAP), including six free counseling sessions per issue per year and 24/7 support from licensed providers. The program has expanded since 2022 to reach over 60 countries.

Additionally, Amazon collaborates with Northwestern University's Lab for Scalable Mental Health to provide Single Session Consultation (SSC) therapy, which offers significant relief from depression symptoms after one session. Dr. DeCou commented on this initiative: "We are on a journey to be the most scientific and technically proficient health benefits organization in the world."

In the U.S., employees have access to Dario Mind and Dario Connect applications for personalized digital mental health support. Amazon also partners with Lyra and Workplace Options LLC to offer pediatric mental health services globally.

Amazon's commitment includes updated mental health awareness training aligned with World Health Organization guidelines, completed by over 130,000 employees and 33,000 managers as of 2025. Specialized substance use support is available through Pelago Health for those enrolled in U.S. health plans.
