Gov. Andy Beshear has announced that Brewco Saw Systems, operating under Curran Mill Machinery, will expand its operations in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. The company plans to invest $1.2 million in the expansion, which is expected to create 20 new jobs and increase its total employment in Kentucky to 37.

“Kentucky’s historic economic momentum in recent years is made possible by our incredible skilled workforce and great businesses that continue to believe in this great state,” said Gov. Beshear. He expressed gratitude towards Brewco Saw for their commitment to growth in Muhlenberg County.

The expansion will add 11,000 square feet to Brewco's manufacturing facility, bringing it to a total of 38,000 square feet. This additional space will accommodate new equipment such as jib cranes, welding machines, air systems, benches, and six new fabrication stations. A larger paint bay will also be added.

Kevin Curran, president and CEO of Brewco Saw Systems, stated: “This expansion represents the next chapter of growth for Brewco.” He emphasized the investment's role in meeting demand and supporting sustainable growth in Kentucky.

Brewco has been providing sawmill solutions for 35 years and serves various markets including wine barrel and residential-grade lumber industries.

Local officials have praised the company's impact on the economy. Muhlenberg County Judge/Executive Mack McGehee highlighted Brewco's role in boosting local economic health by providing jobs and income. Central City Mayor Tony Armour expressed support for Brewco's investment in the community's future.

Ray Hagerman from the Muhlenberg Economic Growth Alliance noted the skilled workforce that facilitated this project: “We are excited to see the growth of Brewco.”

Since taking office, Gov. Beshear has announced numerous private-sector projects totaling over $35 billion in investments across Kentucky. This includes significant developments like Ford Motor Co.'s BlueOval SK Battery Park and Toyota’s investment in Scott County.

To support this latest investment by Brewco Saw Systems, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) preliminarily approved a 15-year incentive agreement offering up to $400,000 based on job creation targets.

Brewco can also access resources from Kentucky’s workforce service providers for recruitment and training services at reduced costs.
