Boeing and the Ministry of Transport of Angola have signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation at the 2025 Paris Air Show. This agreement is set to explore initiatives aimed at advancing Angola's aviation sector, in collaboration with TAAG Angola Airlines.

The Republic of Angola has identified the development of its aviation industry as a priority to boost tourism and stimulate economic growth. The memorandum details various areas for cooperation between Boeing and TAAG Angola Airlines, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency through digital transformation, strengthening technical and maintenance capabilities, optimizing market routes, and supporting fleet modernization.

Ricardo Viegas D’Abreu, Minister of Transport for the Republic of Angola, stated that "TAAG Angola Airlines...has been a cornerstone of the African aviation landscape since its inception in 1938." He emphasized the importance of maintaining a competitive edge while embracing innovation. "This partnership with Boeing represents a significant step forward in our commitment to enhancing operational capabilities," he added.

Brad McMullen, Boeing's senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing, remarked on Boeing's longstanding support for commercial aviation in Africa. “This partnership underscores Boeing's commitment to supporting the growth of the aviation sector in Angola," he said.

Boeing planes make up nearly 70% of Africa’s commercial fleet across more than 60 airlines. According to Boeing’s 2025 Commercial Market Outlook, Africa will need over 1,200 new airplanes in the next two decades to meet rising demand.
