Commercial Specialty Truck Holdings (CSTH) is set to expand its operations in Cynthiana, Kentucky, with a $7.5 million investment that will create 50 full-time jobs. This announcement was highlighted by Governor Andy Beshear as part of the state's growing manufacturing sector.
Governor Beshear stated, "Kentucky’s growth in manufacturing continues to propel our record-setting economic momentum," noting the advantages companies find in Kentucky's workforce and resources. He added that CSTH's decision to invest further in Cynthiana and Harrison County underscores their confidence in the region.
In September 2024, CSTH began a $28 million project for a new 250,000-square-foot facility in Cynthiana to meet increased demand. The current expansion will enhance CSTH's manufacturing capabilities by bringing weldment and machined parts production in-house.
Nate Nedley, president of CSTH, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: "We are excited to continue growing in Cynthiana and adding high-quality jobs that create a career path and growth potential for our team members."
CSTH is headquartered in Cynthiana and operates as the parent company of Continental Mixers, E-Z Pack Trucks, One Source Parts, and Dynamic Towing and Manufacturing. The company specializes in truck bodies for concrete and refuse industries across North America.
Local leaders expressed optimism about the expansion. Harrison County Judge/Executive Jason Marshall commented on the community's strong work ethic: "The expansion of the CSTH truck factory is a testament to our community’s strong work ethic and business-friendly environment." Cynthiana Mayor Isaac Dailey emphasized CSTH's role as both an employer and partner: "Their expansion reflects a shared belief in the future of our town."
Garnett Furnish from the Cynthiana-Harrison County Economic Development Authority noted pride in CSTH's decision to expand locally: "Cynthiana-Harrison County is so proud of CSTH’s decision... Their belief that Cynthiana-Harrison County is providing a workforce that will ensure the company’s future..."
This investment adds to what has been described as Kentucky's best five-year period for economic growth. Since taking office, Gov. Beshear has announced nearly 1,200 private-sector projects totaling over $35 billion.
The state has seen rising wages alongside job creation since 2022. Gov. Beshear also highlighted significant projects such as Ford Motor Co.'s BlueOval SK Battery Park and AESC’s gigafactory project.
Kentucky has achieved record employment numbers and improved credit ratings from major agencies like Fitch Ratings, S&P Global Ratings, and Moody’s Investors Service.
Site Selection magazine ranked Kentucky highly for economic development projects per capita nationally. In response to these developments, Gov. Beshear announced initiatives like New Kentucky Home aimed at boosting investment and tourism.
To support this latest investment by CSTH, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved an incentive agreement under which CSTH can claim eligible incentives against its tax liabilities by meeting certain targets over time.
