Last week, the Louisville Metro Council approved an expansion of the Louisville Downtown Management District. This decision was made following a request from the Louisville Downtown Partnership, which manages programs and services for the central business district. The expansion will incorporate areas around Slugger Field, Angel’s Envy, and the developing LOUMED district into the business improvement district originally established in 1991. These changes will take effect on June 1.

The expanded district aims to provide safety, hospitality, and economic development opportunities for these newly included areas, similar to those available in other parts of downtown.

Redevelopment of downtown remains a key focus for Greater Louisville Inc. (GLI). More information about GLI's initiatives can be found in their Prosper 2030 Strategic Plan.
