IBM and Oracle have announced an expansion of their partnership to enhance AI and hybrid cloud capabilities. IBM will integrate its watsonx portfolio of AI products with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), aiming to boost productivity and efficiency across enterprises through multi-agentic, AI-driven solutions.

Greg Pavlik, Executive Vice President at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, stated, "AI delivers the most impactful value when it works seamlessly across an entire business." He emphasized that the expanded collaboration between IBM and Oracle will offer new opportunities for businesses to transform using AI.

In July, IBM plans to introduce its watsonx Orchestrate AI agent offerings on OCI. This initiative aims to support multi-agent workflows by integrating with Oracle's AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications and other OCI services. The first use cases will focus on human resources.

Kareem Yusuf Ph.D., Senior Vice President at IBM, remarked on the integration: "By integrating our AI with Oracle’s offerings, we’re enabling businesses to easily deploy and manage AI agents across their enterprise."

Oracle intends to host IBM's Granite family of AI models via OCI Data Science later this year. Additionally, IBM's Envizi ESG Suite is set to become available on OCI within 12 months, starting in Saudi Arabia.

IBM Consulting is expanding its services to help clients leverage AI agents across various platforms. These services aim to assist customers in transforming business processes by integrating multiple types of AI agents.

Ritu Jyoti from IDC commented on the strategic advantage of using agents: "Agents are becoming an important strategic advantage for organizations... The Agentic AI approach IBM is taking with Oracle is a leading example."
