Boeing has announced that its production of Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) seekers reached unprecedented levels in 2024, with over 500 units delivered. Early 2025 saw the company setting new records for both monthly and 12-month rolling average production.
The PAC-3 seeker is a crucial component of the Patriot air defense system, which helps identify, track, and neutralize threats such as hostile aircraft and advanced ballistic and cruise missiles. Boeing plans to increase seeker production further in 2025 and beyond to meet growing global defense needs.
A new factory expansion of 35,000 square feet is expected to be completed this spring, providing additional future production capacity. Jim Bryan, director of Integrated Air & Missile Defense at Boeing, emphasized the importance of this capability: “We know that service members and civilians are increasingly depending on us to deliver this critical component for the world’s best air defense system.”
In recent years, Boeing has made strategic investments to enhance PAC-3 seeker production. These include expanding facilities with modern technology, improving manufacturing processes for better quality control, and strengthening supplier relationships to ensure a resilient supply chain.
As a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin, Boeing produces PAC-3 seekers for the U.S. Army and international partners. Currently, seventeen countries use PAC-3 interceptors, including Ukraine.
