After weeks of relative stability, the national average price for a gallon of gas has increased by approximately 4 cents, now reaching $3.12. This change comes even as crude oil prices remain under $70 per barrel. The rise in gas prices is attributed to refineries transitioning to summer-blend gasoline, which is designed to reduce evaporation in warmer temperatures and is more costly to produce.

In contrast, the cost of electricity at public EV charging stations remains unchanged. The national average stands steady at 34 cents per kilowatt hour.
