John Deere has announced the release of its new rate controller, the John Deere Rate Controller 3. This device is designed to manage two liquid and/or anhydrous ammonia (NH3) products and up to 16 sections. The controller builds on existing precision agriculture technology, including components like the Precision Essentials kit with a G5 or G5Plus universal display, StarFire 7500 receiver, and JDLink M or R modem.

The John Deere Rate Controller 3 introduces a new rate controller app within the John Deere display menu. This feature allows farmers to experience similar operations as those found in self-propelled sprayers with factory-installed controllers. Farmers can now monitor planter and rate controller functions on one screen, simplifying adjustments.

The new controller enables simultaneous application of two products (liquid or NH3), reducing field trips needed for applications. It aims to improve efficiency amid rising input costs and is suitable for various customer segments such as row crops, ranches, high-value crops, and golf courses. The device is compatible with Gen 4 v2 and G5 displays.

Serviceability and installation have been enhanced with a new harness and 48-pin connector that increases compatibility with third-party equipment while providing better protection against weathering or damage.

For further details about the Rate Controller 3, customers are encouraged to contact their local John Deere dealer.
