Today, Governor Andy Beshear announced that Earth Breeze, a company known for its environmentally friendly laundry detergent sheets, will establish a facility in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. This $5.9 million investment is expected to create 226 jobs.

“We’re excited to welcome Earth Breeze to our New Kentucky Home,” said Gov. Beshear. “This project will create quality jobs and opportunities for the Harrodsburg community, and I we can’t wait to see this innovative company succeed.”

The new 81,250-square-foot plant will handle various production processes including blending their eco-friendly formula, drying, processing, cutting, packaging, and quality control testing. Positions at the facility will range from directors to operators and administrative staff.

Ben Smith, COO of Earth Breeze expressed gratitude towards Kentucky's support: “We are incredibly grateful to the state of Kentucky for their outstanding support and partnership throughout this journey... This investment is not just about expanding our operations – it’s about building a sustainable future together with the Harrodsburg community.”

Founded in 2019, Earth Breeze offers laundry solutions without harsh chemicals. The company also donates detergent to shelters and disaster relief organizations worldwide.

Local officials have welcomed the development warmly. Mercer County Judge/Executive Sarah Steele remarked on the job opportunities this brings: “We are thrilled to welcome a new company to our community.” Similarly, Harrodsburg Mayor Bob Williams expressed his pleasure at having Earth Breeze in their area.

Greyson Evans from the Harrodsburg-Mercer County Industrial Development Authority emphasized local efforts towards economic growth: “HMCIDA...is thrilled by Earth Breeze’s decision to locate and do business in our community.”

Earth Breeze's investment aligns with significant economic progress under Gov. Beshear's administration which has seen over $35 billion in investments and more than 60,000 jobs created since he took office.

The project has received preliminary approval for tax incentives under the Kentucky Business Investment program from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA). This includes potential tax incentives up to $2.4 million based on performance targets related to job creation and wages.

Additionally, Earth Breeze can access resources such as recruitment services and job-training incentives provided by Kentucky’s workforce service providers.
