Protecting American Consumers Together (PACT), a national advocacy and educational organization, has announced the launch of its second television advertisement in Georgia. The ad, titled "Standing Up," is part of a larger campaign aimed at highlighting the need for reform to address lawsuit abuse, which PACT argues negatively impacts consumers by increasing costs.

The campaign supports Governor Brian Kemp's efforts to pass tort reform legislation in Georgia. PACT claims that inflated costs and questionable tactics by personal injury lawyers are detrimental to consumers. The organization's mission is to advocate for transparency and fairness in the legal system.

Independent studies have highlighted Georgia's need for tort reform, with one report ranking the state fourth in terms of lawsuit abuse. According to PACT, these issues cost a family of four over $5,000 annually and result in significant job losses across the state.

In Georgia, PACT's initiatives include airing TV and digital ads to expose harmful practices, supporting legislative efforts for tort reform, educating consumers about their rights, and advocating for policy changes that promote accountability.

Lauren Zelt, Executive Director of PACT, said: "PACT continues to be laser-focused on delivering commonsense reforms to protect consumers, lower costs, and stand up for small businesses that have been victimized by the personal injury system. We are proud to support leaders like Governor Brian Kemp who is pushing to pass lawsuit abuse reform in the state. We encourage all Georgia lawmakers to reform the system for the betterment of all families in the Peach State."
