Kentucky has set a new record for global exports, achieving $47.7 billion in 2024, surpassing the previous year by 18.7%. Governor Andy Beshear announced this milestone, emphasizing the rising global demand for products made in Kentucky. "The global demand for Kentucky-made products, made by hard-working Kentuckians right here in the commonwealth, has never been higher," said Gov. Beshear.

Canada remained the top destination for Kentucky's exports with over $9.3 billion worth of goods shipped there. The United Kingdom, France, China, and Mexico followed as key trade partners. Other notable markets included Brazil, Netherlands, Malaysia, Germany, and Singapore.

Aerospace products continued to lead Kentucky's export categories with shipments totaling more than $18.9 billion in 2024—a 41.8% increase from the previous year. Motor vehicles and pharmaceuticals also contributed significantly to export figures with $4.4 billion and $3.7 billion respectively.

Governor Beshear highlighted that since his administration began, over 1,100 private-sector projects have been initiated with investments exceeding $35 billion and creating more than 60,000 jobs—marking a record investment level for any governor in Kentucky's history.

Kentucky is establishing itself as a hub for electric vehicle battery production with major projects like Ford Motor Co.'s BlueOval SK Battery Park and AESC’s gigafactory project contributing to economic growth.

The state recorded its largest General Fund budget surplus and maintained over two million jobs filled since 2023—a first in its history. Additionally, Kentucky received rating upgrades from Fitch Ratings, S&P Global Ratings, and Moody’s Investors Service.

Site Selection magazine ranked Kentucky third nationally for economic development projects per capita in its Governor’s Cup rankings last March and placed it second in the South Central region in April's Prosperity Cup ranking.
