Easing oil costs and reduced domestic demand have contributed to a slight decrease in gas prices, with the national average dropping by two cents to $3.11 per gallon since last week. In contrast, the cost of electricity at public EV charging stations has remained stable at 34 cents per kilowatt hour.

Andrew Gross, a spokesperson for AAA, commented on the current situation: “We are about halfway through winter, so there may be fewer seasonal spikes at the pump.” Gross also announced his retirement, stating, “And on a personal note, this is my final gas update, as I am retiring. But fear not, the AAA Fuel Report will remain in capable hands.”
