The AAA Diamond Program has expanded its Five Diamonds list with the addition of two new properties: Yaamava’ Resort and Casino at San Manuel in Highland, California, and Aurelia at Castle Hill in Newport, Rhode Island. This announcement concludes a year in which AAA added nine hotels and eight restaurants to its Five Diamond roster.
AAA’s Vice President of Travel, Stacey Barber, highlighted the rigorous inspection process that ensures only top-tier establishments receive this recognition. "AAA Diamond Inspectors work tirelessly throughout the year to verify the 4 Cs of AAA Diamonds: Cleanliness, Comfort, Cuisine, and Consistency," Barber stated. She emphasized that these inspections provide travelers with reliable information for planning vacations.
In addition to the new Five Diamond inductees, more than one hundred hotels and restaurants were added to the Four Diamonds list this year. These properties are noted for their upscale amenities and fine dining experiences.
The full list of new Five Diamond hotels includes prestigious names such as Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco in California and Waldorf Astoria Chicago in Illinois. Among the newly recognized restaurants are Auro in Calistoga, California, and Emeril’s in New Orleans, Louisiana.
AAA inspectors conduct unannounced visits across North America, the Caribbean, and Costa Rica to maintain an updated list of Diamond-rated properties. The organization currently recognizes approximately 140 Five Diamond hotels and 60 Five Diamond restaurants.
