The Ohio Manufacturers' Association (OMA) has expressed approval for Amazon Web Services' (AWS) recent announcement of a significant investment in Ohio. AWS plans to allocate an estimated $10 billion to enhance its data center infrastructure within the state, which is expected to generate hundreds of new jobs by 2030.

"Today's announcement by Amazon proves that Ohio is leading the nation in both manufacturing and technological advancement," said the OMA. The association emphasized the importance of data centers in advancing Industry 4.0, highlighting their role in enhancing productivity and efficiency through tools like AI. The OMA also noted the mutual benefits between manufacturers and data centers, as manufacturers supply essential components for these facilities.

The investments are anticipated to not only aid existing manufacturers in Ohio but also attract new businesses to establish operations in the state.

The OMA, founded in 1910, is Ohio's largest statewide business association dedicated exclusively to manufacturers. Its mission focuses on protecting and expanding manufacturing within Ohio. Manufacturing stands as the state's largest economic sector, employing about 690,000 individuals and contributing over $133 billion annually to the economy.
