Amazon has announced a construction manager role for its AMER Central Construction team within AWS Infrastructure Services, based in Wilmington, Ohio. The position involves working with a team to support the design, planning, delivery, and operation of global AWS infrastructure.

According to Amazon Jobs, the data center construction manager will collaborate with various AWS teams to maintain high standards for safety, security, and cost-efficiency while delivering innovative data centers for Amazon customers. This role involves managing the construction of cutting-edge electrical and mechanical systems, directly overseeing contractors, and ensuring cost, schedule, and quality goals are met on the construction site.

Responsibilities include managing project scope, financial analysis, constructability reviews, and quality control while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry regulations. The data center construction manager will oversee large-scale construction projects from bidding to project completion.

Candidates should have at least a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields or 6+ years of relevant construction management experience. Ideal applicants will also possess 6+ years of experience in constructing complex projects involving mechanical and electrical systems, particularly data centers or similar critical infrastructure.
