Amazon has announced that Mojo Spa has leveraged its platform to support growth during the pandemic. Founder Amanda Kezios now offers 200 natural beauty products through Amazon.
In 2003, Kezios created a line of natural, plant-based beauty products aimed at improving skin health while promoting a positive message. Her products are handmade in small batches using ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and herbal infusions. The range includes skincare, makeup, body care, artisan soaps, bath products, and soy massage candles, all developed and produced in Chicago using her original recipes. During the pandemic, Kezios utilized Amazon to maintain operations for her business.
"Not only did I not have to lay off any of my staff, but I actually hired their family members who got laid off from their jobs during the pandemic," said Kezios. "Amazon allowed us to grow as a company at probably one of the worst economic times we’ve ever had."
According to Amazon, the sales from its platform helped cover necessary expenses and enabled the company to continue growing. This expansion has allowed Mojo Spa to reach a broader audience, with plans to further extend its presence internationally.
"Pre-pandemic, Amazon was just something we did on the side," said Kezios. "Now, we have dedicated staff to it and it’s playing an integral role in our growth," she said. "[Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) was] one of the biggest game changers."
