In recognition of National Black Business Month, Amazon published an article highlighting how it supports Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in the United States and around the world. It extends much of that support through Amazon’s Black Business Accelerator (BBA).

According to the article, the BBA assists Black-owned businesses in launching and growing their businesses on the Amazon platform. For example, to prepare Black-owned businesses for Prime Day, the BBA provides educational tracks and benefits through its BBA Amplify program. The program shows businesses how to offer deals, leverage Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), and use digital advertising and onsite marketing opportunities to attract shoppers. Amazon also integrates Black-owned and small-selling partners into its seasonal campaigns, such as Oprah’s Favorite Things.

Black-owned businesses have multiple opportunities to grow their business know-how. They participate in the Amazon Small Business Academy, which helps guide business owners from concept to launch. In addition, Amazon offers small-business owners educational audio content through its "This is Small Business podcast." There’s also the Amazon Seller University, with its thousands of hours of free educational content.

"Selling as a Black-owned business in Amazon’s store has been a transformative experience for BLK & Bold, providing us with an unparalleled opportunity to reach a broader audience," Rod Johnson, co-founder and chief values officer of BLK & Bold, was quoted as saying in the article. "This exposure has amplified our brand’s message and introduced us to a new and loyal customer base that values both quality and purpose. Amazon's support has not only helped us grow our business but also allowed us to further our mission of giving back to the community."
