Amazon is seeking a solutions architect for its Amazon Web Services (AWS) unit in Cincinnati. In this role, a technologist will partner with global automotive and manufacturing companies to develop cloud architectures that address customer business problems and catalyze the adoption of AWS services.

According to an Amazon job announcement, AWS—Amazon’s cloud computing subsidiary—is seeking candidates who know how to work backwards from their customers’ needs to help gain a competitive edge by adopting AWS.

The announcement outlines specific responsibilities, including understanding best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions and transitioning existing workloads to the cloud. As an account team member, the solutions architect will guide customers' choices in use cases related to security, compute, storage networking as well as advanced scenarios involving server-less, analytics, and AI/ML.

To qualify for the position, candidates should have more than three years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures and more than five years of experience in specific technology domain areas such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data, and analytics. For this role, Amazon prefers candidates with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or five years of professional or military experience.

Amazon is not strict on those qualifications. "If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences," the announcement states. "Don’t let it stop you from applying."
