Retired U.S. Marines Captain Scott Montefusco made a stop at the Museum on Saturday, July 1 while on his cross county trip! He is recreating the first transcontinental automobile trip done by Horatio Jackson in 1903. Dr. Peter Kesling also recreated this trip in 2003, the 100th anniversary of Jackson's trip. Dr. Kesling also drove that same kind of car as Jackson, a 1903 Winton that is on display at the Museum. 

Montefusco is calling this trip the Great American Road Trip for Vets as his goal to raise awareness and funds for Tunnel to Towers, a non-profit dedicated to supporting military and first responder families. We wish him good luck as he continues his journey east. He is scheduled to enter New York City on July 26, the same day that Horatio Jackson did.
