Yvonne Wai, chief sales officer of Winnitex, recently said that the American Apparel and Footwear Association’s (AAFA) Executive Summit 2022 was helpful for the company's growth.

The 2022 AAFA Executive Summit took place from March 9 through 11 at the Hilton Washington, D.C. National Mall. The event was an opportunity for leaders in the apparel, footwear, retail and fashion accessory industries to convene and discuss technology, innovation, ESG and responsible growth.

According to a press release, founder and executive chairman of Under Armour Kevin Plank was the summit's keynote speaker. Other speakers included former director of executive recruiting at Google Ginny Clarke and Axios reporter Jonathan Swan.

Wai was in attendance to meet with apparel leaders to discuss sustainability and “the new frontier of retail.”

“Winnitex is committed to growing responsibly,” Wai said. “It’s helpful to discuss strategies and technologies with the leading textile companies in the world.”

The AAFA was founded in 2000 and its board is comprised of executives from PVH, Goldbug, Inc., Under Armour, Lululemon, Athletica and BBC International.

Founded in 1964 and based in Hong Kong, Winnitex employs more than 3,000 people across the world. Wai has served as Winnitex's chief sales officer since 2008, overseeing marketing and sales.
