Fort Worth-based American Airlines has added two new nonstop flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Starting in early June, Central Texans can fly the carrier directly to Santa Ana, California's John Wayne Airport and Bozeman, Montana, according to the airline.

Austin NBC affiliate KXAN reported that service to Santa Ana will begin on June 3 while the first set of flights to Bozeman are slated to take off the next day.

American also announced the relaunch of season service between AUS and Destin-Fort Walton Beach, which will also start in four months.

“We are thrilled to keep building on our record growth in Austin by providing local travelers more nonstop flights to beaches and mountains for their summer travel plans," American Airlines Vice President of Network Planning Brian Znotins said, KXAN reported.

The airline began selling tickets for all three new flights on Feb. 21.

The flights will have arrival and departure times at AUS between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the station reported.

Last month, American announced that Central Texans can fly from AUS to Cozumel, Mexico and Montego Bay, Jamaica starting on June 11.

"We are proud to reinforce our commitment to Austin by giving local customers more options to fly nonstop to popular destinations," Znotins said in a company issued statement. "Whether it’s to the beaches of Cozumel and Montego Bay, or to the dozens of other destinations we offer from Austin, we look forward to further connecting Central Texans to our global network."

After the COVID-19 pandemic crippled air travel, AUS experienced a resurgence in passenger traffic last year.

According to the airport, 2021 was its fourth-busiest year on record.

Last year also saw over 3.2 million take American out of AUS, making the legacy carrier the second-largest in the Texas state capital behind Southwest Airlines, which is also based in Dallas-Fort Worth, KXAN reported.
