West Contract Manufacturing plans to invest $6 million in its expansion project in West Michigan.
The expansion project will create 110 new jobs for the residents of the area, a recent press release issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's office said. The company provides its employees tuition reimbursement, job skill training and avenues for advancement within the organization.
"We are pleased to continue our growth in Walker, Michigan which will help support our mission of improving patient lives around the globe," said Brian Meines, site director at the company's Michigan facility. "I'm proud of our team members and the work they do to support our mission. We look forward to being able to support our local communities with more job opportunities as a result of this expansion and are excited to contribute to a continued bright future for our Walker and Grand Rapids communities."
Whitmer recently appeared at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to announce the expansion plans of West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., through its subsidiary West Contract Manufacturing. The company will expand its existing Contract Manufacturing facility in the city of Walker.
The project is expected to be funded by a $6 million West investment, as well as a $500,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund. The Michigan site was chosen over a number of competing sites in other states.
