Amazon will open a clothing store later this year in the Los Angeles suburb of Glendale, the company announced.

"Very excited to share this with customers … We're opening Amazon Style, our first-ever physical store for apparel," Amazon Lead Andy Jassy tweeted. " It will be located in L.A. and use machine learning and a unique store design to create a customized experience for each shopper."

The store will have one size and color of an item on display, but customers can log in and scan a QR code that displays other sizes and colors available in the back of the store, CNBC reported.

“This allows us to offer more selection without requiring customers to  sift through racks to find that right color, size and fit,” Simoina Vasen, managing director of Amazon Style, told CNBC.

Also, fitting rooms will have touch-screen displays that allow customers to request different sizing options that will delivered to a secure closet in the fitting room that unlocks after the clothes are delivered, CNBC said. That way, customers can continue shopping without leaving the fitting room, Amazon said.

The store will offer a broad range of men's and women's clothing, apparel and shoes, the story said.

“You’ll find everything from the $10 basic to the designer jeans to the $400 timeless piece,”  Simoina Vasen, managing director of Amazon Style, told CNBC. “We want to meet every budget and every price point.”

The store will have about 30,000 square feet of space, about the size of a typical T.J. Maxx, but smaller than a department store, the network reported.
