(Sponsored Content)--People often talk about having a side hustle, but may not know the best way to earn extra income.

These days it’s all about having a side gig and extra income, and for Dave Mountain it’s a no brainer.

The part-time Uber driver from Central Jersey said he enjoys that he is able to create his own schedule that he can fit in with his full-time job.

"It depends on the week,” he said. “I’m a marketing and advertising consultant, so when I’ve got full client work or multiple client work, I don't do any rideshare. If the clients are a little light or laps, I’ll do some; and if the clients aren't doing any, I’ll do full."

Uber operates in 10,000 cities in 71 countries, with 16 million trips per day as of June 30, 2021 and 101 million active monthly platform users. The company reported that as of last year, it had paid its drivers and delivery people $142 billion in cumulative payments since its inception in March 2009.

A Pew Research Center survey found the number of people who say they have used ride-sharing apps like Uber more than doubled from 2015 to 2018. As the use of ride-sharing apps continues to increase, the demand for gig workers is also growing.

Furthermore, a Freelancing in America 2019 survey of 6,000 U.S. workers determined that 79% of full-time and 76% of part-time freelance workers had a side hustle that involved a flexible workforce environment and schedule that fit their lifestyle.
