Franklin Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Youth mental health first aid is designed for adults who interact with youth. Participants who successfully complete the training will become certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid!

**This course will be virtual on Zoom.

Register at https://oct5ythmhfa.eventbrite.com by 9/26/21.

*You will be required to complete a 2-hour self-paced training online BEFORE attending the virtual class portion of the course. All necessary links and materials will be provided to you.

You will learn:

-Common signs and symptoms of a mental health concern in this age group vs. typical adolescent development.

-The unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents.

-The importance of early intervention.

-How to help a youth who is experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.

-A 5-step action plan to assist youth in both non-crisis and crisis situations.

-Community Mental Health Resources Available
