Small businesses seeking relief under the Indiana Small Business Restart Grant program now have until Friday, Jan. 22 to apply.

The application period for the grants was extended by Gov. Eric Holcomb along with a number of other changes intended to expand eligibility, according to a press release from Holcomb’s office. The changes are intended to both expand the number of businesses who may be able to benefit from the program, and to increase the possible award amount and types of expenses that can be reimbursed in order to meet the needs of Hoosier businesses.

Under the new provisions, eligibility was expanded to include businesses with 51-to-75 employees, payroll and verified insurance premium payments are eligible for reimbursement, and the qualifying period for expenses has been expanded to include November and December for businesses in all 92 counties, according to the release.

Additionally, businesses that previously received funds under the program but did not receive the $50,000 maximum may be able to apply for reimbursement for newly-covered expenses, according to the release.
