Arizona-based Diversified Partners is offering a solution to the commercial real estate community via a virtual conference due to the COVID-19-related cancellation of the industry's largest annual retail convention.
This event offers opportunities to learn, transact business and connect with industry leaders as well as fellow peers.
Diversified Partners, a commercial real estate and brokerage company, has found a way to pivot and provide a virtual opportunity to keep business moving forward: AZSC Reconnect 2020.
The online conference has been scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, May 18-19. It will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
AZSC Reconnect 2020 will include keynote speakers and more than 10 breakout sessions featuring local, regional and national brokers, tenants, developers, city representatives and experts discussing current CRE topics.
One specialty forum will teach maximizing social media reach; another will put industry leaders in a session to discuss today's retail climate and solutions. It’s a matter of taking a challenging situation, learning from it and overcoming it.
The free event will also feature sessions for participants to schedule and make deals directly with others while providing an open forum “lobby” for folks to connect on the fly.
Walt Brown, Jr., founder, CEO and designated broker of Diversified Partners, LLC, a Scottsdale-based real estate brokerage and commercial real estate company, will serve as host.
Brown has been in the industry for three decades, starting with commercial real estate in California. He later moved to Arizona in 1992, where he worked as a commercial real estate agent.
Diversified Partners was founded as a full service commercial real estate brokerage company in 1996. He has combined his passion for the work with executive oversight and a “big picture” mentality.
His vision has made Diversified Partners into one of the leading development and brokerage firms in Arizona. He will bring that experience as host of AZSC Reconnect 2020.
While it will focus on Arizona business opportunities, Jennifer Hill, a senior vice president for brokerage and leasing, said it will provide information for people from across the country.
“I think those in commercial real estate with a focus on retail will find it valuable,” she said.
Diversified Partners started planning for the online meeting at the end of April after the industry’s largest retail convention was canceled. Last year’s event drew 37,000 commercial real estate professionals to the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“The impetus that led to this virtual event was a desire to replace the connectivity and deal-making opportunities that were lost with the cancellation of ICSC’s Recon 2020 in Las Vegas due to COVID-19,” Hill said.
The event can be accessed via a link through the Zoom platform, which does not require a Zoom account in order to join a meeting. Participants can join a meeting from their phone, desktop, mobile and tablets.
“Attendees should plan to reach out directly to anyone they want to connect with and schedule a meeting or conference call,” said Diversified Partners associate Morgan Fingleton. “There are dedicated time slots for meetings so attendees can maximize their event time.”
