Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec. 18.

Kokomo, Indiana, December 1, 2018 At this year’s annual Christmas Banquet/Awards Dinner, the following members were recognized for the contributions to the association and their communities:

2019 REALTOR® OF THE YEAR

Dee Dee Richards, Managing Broker at D. R. Indiana Realty, has been named the REALTORS® Association of Central Indiana 2019 REALTOR® of the Year. The REALTOR® of the Year award annually recognizes the best in REALTOR® spirit, business accomplishments, commitment and involvement in the REALTOR® Association, and participation in civic and community affairs.

Dee Dee has been a REALTOR® member since 2008 when she opened her first office in Shelbyville, Indiana. In June of 2013, a second office location was opened in Peru, Indiana. In 2015, she joined the board of directors where she has devoted much time to committees such as community outreach, nominating, finance, professional standards and the executive committee.

In her local community, she works closely with the city of Peru as a resource for questions and conversations to tackle the real estate related issues that are impacting the community.

In response to being awarded the 2019 REALTOR® of the Year, Dee Dee stated, “It is such a blessing and an honor to be nominated and awarded REALTOR® of the Year by my colleagues.”

2018 DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

Berdina Head, associate broker at F. C. Tucker Tomlinson is the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. Berdina has been a REALTOR® since 1977. Her impact in the Association and the real estate community has been significant as she has served on various committees and leadership roles throughout her career. Highlights include obtaining the GRI and CRS designations, serving on the board for many years including as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and Board President in 1996 and 1997 REALTOR of the Year. She also served faithfully at the Indiana Association of REALTORS® as director and on committees.

2018 HONOR AFFILIATE AWARD

Breanne Bennett, consumer loan officer with Rural 1st has been very supportive of the REALTOR® members and Association by faithfully attending meetings, activities and special events. Additionally, Breanne organized and sponsored continuing education for the REALTOR® members on the very important topic of REALTOR® Safety. “I was honored to be chosen as the RACI 2018 Affiliate of the Year. I have a true passion for helping others and I love being a part of one of the biggest decisions people make financially.” – Breanne Bennett.
