Coconino County issued the following announcement on Aug. 23.
Coconino County Parks & Recreation is hosting the 69th annual Coconino County Fair, on Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 31 – Sept. 3 at Fort Tuthill County Park.
The County Fair is a community event where adult and youth exhibit animals and handicrafts, and people of all ages enjoy entertainment acts, carnival rides and games.The headline musical acts are:
Friday, Aug. 31 – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Bluegrass Band
Saturday, Sept. 1 – Winger
Sunday, Sept. 2 – Los Internaccionales Caminantes De Humberto Navarro
Monday, Sept. 3 – Nolan McKelvey Band
Additional entertainment includes SolOverLuna, the Workingman’s Band, WEEZUS, the Reckless Band, Mike Reeves Band, Rhythm Edition, FoxyKoshka and other local and regional acts. Strolling acts include April Gallegos Balloon Animals, Dune Sea Garrison (Star Wars) on Saturday and variety acts such as the Perceptives and Bob at Large.
The County Fair offers complimentary shuttle services to and from NAU at the South Campus Parking Lot P62 on East Pine Knoll Drive, and the County Health and Community Services Building, 2625 N King St. The shuttle stop at NAU runs all four days and the shuttle stop at the County Health and Community Services Building runs Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 1 and 2). Coconino County offers several ways to save at the Fair:
•Take the free shuttle to the Fair
•Ride your bike to the Fair
•Food Friday: A variety of select fair food items will be sold for $5 on Friday, Aug. 31. Food vendors participating in the $5 meal promotion are asked to sell a meal including one entrée, one side, and one beverage for $5. This promotion will take place on Friday, Aug. 31 only. This program gives people a chance to purchase “fair food” during School’s Day. Coconino County Parks and Recreation will provide vendors a sign to advertise.
•$1 off admission coupon found on Nackard Pepsi products at several grocery stores in Coconino County.
•Military discount: Active, retired, and veteran’s admission is $7 throughout the Fair.
Fair hours:
•Friday –Sunday, Aug. 31 – Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Monday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
•Fair carnival hours: Friday –Sunday, Aug. 31 – Sept. 2 from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4 from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Admission for adults is $8, seniors and children (6-12) is $5, active military including retired and veterans (with ID) is $7 and children (5 and under) are free. Parking at the fairgrounds $5.
