Surprise Finance Director Lindsey Duncan recently presented the City Council and city manager with a recommended $387.8 million budget for 2019.

The budget includes a $59.5 million general obligation bond for public safety, traffic congestion mitigation and pavement preservation projects.

Proposed spending includes a fourth ambulance for the city, two new police officers, an emergency manager, an information technology security analyst, and a court compliance coordinator.

The budget also includes  $16 million in contingency capacity to purchase the Circle City Water Co. should the special election be approved in May, and incremental wage increases for part-time employees. Paid sick time and an increase in pension contributions also are a part of new employee benefits budgeted by the city.

The complete budget proposal can be accessed here.
