Amkor Technology Inc., a Tempe-based semiconductor packaging and test services provider, said last week that it has won IDG Enterprise’s 2016 CSO50 Award in recognition of its work in creating security programs that support business value.

Selected from hundreds of nominees for the annual honor, Amkor plans to share its case studies with others at the CSO50 Conference in 2016. To assist security groups in optimizing strategies, Amkor Vice President of Information Security Mike Forman will present at the conference, slated for April 18-20, 2016, at the Wigwam Resort near Phoenix.

“Amkor is committed to protecting intellectual property owned by the company and its customers,” Amkor Chief Information Officer Umesh Manathkar said. “Information security is a key part of our corporate value proposition.”

IDG Enterprise is a Massachusetts-based publisher. Its CSO offers the latest information and best practices on business continuity and data protection. Chief security officers see to a corporation's security needs for personnel, physical assets and data in both physical and digital form.

“Our annual CSO50 Awards recognize the innovation, creativity and business acumen that goes into creating outstanding security projects,” CSO Editor-in-Chief Joan Goodchild said. “We congratulate each of our winners for their accomplishments in creating projects that not only demonstrate state-of-the-art security, but exemplary business value as well.”

The CSO50 Awards highlight 50 businesses annually for their leadership in security initiatives. Entrants are ranked by a panel of security professionals and academics.

“I am extremely impressed with the security innovation our honorees have demonstrated and their stories will encourage other organizations to grow and embrace innovation without sacrificing security,” CSO Vice President  and Publisher Bob Bragdon said.
