Jeffrey Preston Bezos Executive Chairman of Amazon | Amazon

Prime Video recently held its Engage 2025 event at the Culver Theater in Culver City, California. The gathering featured discussions with leaders from notable partners such as Apple, BBC Studios, Globo, Hallmark, Hearst Networks, Lionsgate Entertainment, PBS, SkyShowtime, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Discovery. The event was hosted by Kelly Day and Albert Cheng of Prime Video.

Prime Video highlighted its marketplace's integration of add-on subscriptions, TVOD (Transactional Video on Demand), and FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) services. This platform delivers entertainment to Amazon customers worldwide, including over 200 million Prime members. Albert Cheng emphasized the collaborative nature of their marketplace: "Our marketplace isn’t based on a traditional programmer-distributor dynamic—it's a collaboration in which we jointly deliver a premium experience."

Jonathan Carson from Antenna provided insights into the streaming industry's growth. According to Antenna's estimates, U.S. SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) subscriptions grew by 11% from March 2024 to March 2025. He also noted that churn rates are stabilizing with many former subscribers returning within a year.

Carson highlighted the role of third-party distributors in expanding reach for streamers like HBO Max. After ending its partnership with Prime Video in 2021 and losing subscribers, HBO Max saw significant growth upon rejoining Prime Video.

Tricia Lee discussed upcoming AI-powered innovations at Prime Video aimed at enhancing content quality and user experience: "We all know that Generative AI is fundamentally changing everything," she said.
